Deleting your data
You can remove your data from Postlayer at any time, in the app, from Facebook, or by email.
Effective 7 November 2026
Check a deletion request
Enter the confirmation code you received from Facebook after asking for your data to be deleted.
Three ways to delete
1. Disconnect accounts
In the app, open Accounts and choose Disconnect on any Facebook Page, Instagram, YouTube, X or LinkedIn account. We immediately discard its access tokens and stop publishing to it or reading its statistics. Posts that already went out stay on the platform; delete them there if you want them gone.
2. Delete your Social account
Open Settings and use Delete account at the bottom. This deletes, right away:
- your profile (email and name) and your workspace memberships;
- every workspace you are the only owner of, with everything in it: posts and schedules, uploaded media records, engagement metrics, connected social accounts and their encrypted tokens, API keys and webhooks.
Workspaces that have another owner are kept for them; you are simply removed, and posts you wrote there stay in that workspace without your name. Uploaded media files are removed from storage within 30 days.
3. From Facebook, or by email
On Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, remove Postlayer, and choose to send a deletion request. Meta notifies us, and we delete the Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts you connected, along with their tokens, the posts published only to them and their metrics. Facebook shows you a confirmation code you can check above.
Or email [email protected] from the address you sign in with and tell us what to delete. We will confirm by reply.
When it happens
In-app deletions and requests from Facebook are processed immediately. Email requests are completed within 30 days, usually much sooner. Copies in our hosting provider's encrypted backups expire as those backups roll over.
What we can't delete for you
Content already published to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X or LinkedIn lives on those platforms; delete it there. You can also revoke Postlayer's access in each platform's settings at any time.
More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
